Day trip the east and south portion of the Everglades
On one of the boardwalks
Miles and miles of saw grass
An anhinga; it swims primarily
under water to catch its food
.
There it goes...
and comes up with a goodie !
We really like gators; this is a
6 footer
Baby gator, about a foot long
A 4 foot rattlesnake crossing
one of the parking lots.
A 13 foot crocodile.
The Everglades is the only place
where crocodiles and alligators
exist in the same environment.
We did not see them both together.
A white heron.
Mt. Everest, eat your heart out !!
The dwarf cypress forest.
Full moon rising over
the Everglades.
We saw the west side of the Everglades a few of weeks ago and decided to check out the other side. Both were essentially the same except for the crocodiles, which are just in the southern portion.
